PROGRAM LENGTH

75 Hours/Approximately 3 weeks

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

To prepare and train students for employment as Home Health Aides.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This program is designed to prepare students for employment as Home Health Aides. The program includes but is not limited to instruction in those supportive services that are required to provide and maintain bodily and emotional comfort and to assist the patient toward independent living in a safe environment. The students will have 25 hours of lab/services to practice, demonstrate and perform procedures associated with bedside client care.

TIME TO COMPLETE PROGRAM

Full time day students complete this program in 3 weeks. Part-time evening students will complete this program in 6 weeks.

 

PROGRAM COMPLETION

Upon completion of the program the student will receive a diploma, In-Services which include HIV/Aids & Domestic Violence Certificate.  Graduates will be eligible to apply for the Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician Exam (CCHT). Hemodialysis Technicians students will be eligible to challenge the Nursing Assistant Exam*

Hemodialysis Technician Program

A hemodialysis technician works with all members of the dialysis team but is most closely aligned with a nurse who delegates and supervises the patient care.

Patient Care Technician Program

A patient care technician works with all members of the healthcare team but is most closely aligned with a registered nurse who delegates and supervises the technician’s direct patient care.
